As the Apostle Paul is drawing to a close his letter to the Phillippians he now turns his focus on an area of great importance to the christian. That being our need. Not our desires or wants but our need. The power to meet the need is there for us in Christ Jesus, as that He is our source. The reason for this power is quite simple; pressure abounds, just as it did in Paul's day it does so in our day. What we can do about this pressure is to become partakers in sharing the tribulation that our fellow saints are going through. Just as the Phillippian church sent their posts along to help Paul we can do the same in our present age. Posts of encouragement, care, and whatever else the good Lord has empowered us to do. By following through we are producing fruit that is loaded with purpose. A purpose not just for ourselves but for others as well including God who loves to see His children walking in obedience. Although we may not be looking for payment for what we do God payback in ways we can't fathom, not because He has to but because He loves us. Now the perspective is something we need to keep in mind. It is not just ourselves we are talking about here but all those around us and even those who we have never met are involved. And the grace He has given us is so profound not only do we start in it, are carried through by it, but one day that same grace will take us home. All this is the need.
