Demons Tormenting Children
In this passage, we see the heart-wrenching reality of suffering in children. A young boy has been possessed by an evil spirit since childhood. The demon has made him deaf and mute; it throws him into seizures and convulsions, slams him on the ground, makes him foam at the mouth, makes him stiffen up, and has thorwn him into both fire and water. What a miserable life this boy endures. What an excruciating situation for his parents. Scripture does not gloss over suffering, but rather shows it in grim colors. This pasage shows the reality of original sin. How is it that children can suffer? Because they have contracted guilt and a sinful nature in Adam. What is the solution. Christ and Christ alone. Redemption. Rebirth. Being transferred from the kingdom of Satan to the kingdom of Christ.
