God will only be satisfied when all sins have been paid for and the wages of sin is an eternal death. John 3:36/1 Thess 1:10/Psalm 7:11/Ezekiel 18:20 d. There never can be expiation, guilt removed from us until there is propitiation, satisfaction brought before God. e. Isaiah 53:5-9 - God determined what sacrifice would propitiate Him. The death of Christ was the satisfaction of divine justice. f. Hebrews 7:26-27 g. Hebrews 10:17 - God is so satisfied by the sacrifice of Christ. h. Jesus was it! No need for any more offerings. Rom 3:26 i. 1 John 4:10 - I was not the propitiation of a loving Christ that won the love of God, but the Love of God that sent Christ to be the propitiation. j. God is Just and Holy and Loving; out of that comes His grace, mercy and forgiveness
3. The verse does not teach universalism a.Galatians 2:9 - a Jew speaking to Jews who understand completely propitiation b. Understood Yom Kippur/The day of Atonement/They understood that there is not more sacrifices.
