In this lecture pastor Chronister is continuing with the 8th Mystery which is 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9. There are 11 Mysteries (just in case you were wondering). The 8th is the Mystery of the Lawless One, The Man of Sin, The Antichrist. Surprisingly enough, this involves Judas. I’ll let this pastor explain that to you. This is also Genesis 3:15; the seed of the serpent, and the seed of the woman. And this preacher expands much on this. 1 Timothy 3:16 tells us that the Mystery of Godliness is very hard to understand (this is the first Mystery). Genesis 3:15 is the first mention of the Hypostatic Union. God taking on humanity.
Pastor talks about an article that Mark gave him asking, “Is Jesus inferior to God?” This view, that He is subordinate to God is, well... it’s heretical. But it’s very common in Christian circles today. Of course, our pastor has to expand greatly on this, as well he should. He talks about the human will and the Devine will of Jesus Christ. The question here is: do you have an impeccable or a peccable view of Christ? And: was Christ always aware of His Deity?
This is the most important doctrine in Scripture. So, just suck it up buttercup (he didn’t say that, it’s just how I interpret it, but I’m prior military).
But now we get back to talking about what we went through last week. That Christ is in complete control of His own crucifixion. And this discussion is very fascinating and informative.
So if you want to get into some serious study, well... you’ve come to the right place.
Note: It appears there are places in this recording that have missing pieces, and unfortunately we had no redundancy back then.
