Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ: God made a covenant with Abram and verbally and visually assured Abram he would keep that covenant.
Christ, the Covenant Keeper, was going to come to die for Abram's and his descendants' sins.
But a covenant always places responsibility on man – and Abram was no exception. He was required to have faith in the coming Christ, a faith that had to be seen in good works.
One of the good works was to wait for God to send the Child of Promise.
Today we will see the doubt that entered Abram's and Sarah's minds, and their lack of faith that resulted in poor choices… and bad consequences.
