INTRO: For many years I tried to duplicate very little teaching. Now lately I am duplicating some topics. It is not that there is not enough new information but Jesus said those who are instructed in the kingdom of God bring out of their treasure both old and new (Matt. 13:52). I am hoping that these few messages will be especially helpful to those who are new in the church.
So, in our last message we sought to answer this question: Who am I? And we said that the real me is not the body, nor the soul or the spirit; not even all three of those put together. The real me is self, the president of all the possessions residing in the body, soul and spirit. When the Scriptures talk about being crucified with Christ, they are speaking of the self. We refer to this self, or this person by their given name or the personal pronouns we use to take the place of that name. If you are in a school where they still teach grammar, treat that subject, not as an enemy but a valuable aspect of knowledge important to know.
Today's question is, “Why am I here?” I will again be duplicating some things I have taught in the past. For those of you who remember these things, let them be fixed more firmly in your mind. For those for whom they are new, you will learn one of the most important truths you will ever learn. You will learn what the Bible teaches as the reason why you are here.
