As our exposition of Luke continues, we come to two Sabbath controversies and we examine the heart of the Sabbath. We find that the Sabbath was not revoked or repealed by Jesus Christ. But instead He came to remove all of the extra-biblical traditions that the Pharisees had added to the day, which had turned it from a blessing to a burden. We seek to understand the substance of the Sabbath - the day Jesus Christ says that He is the Lord of. What we find is that it is a day we would delight in, if we truly delighted in Jesus Christ.
