It's important to see that the reign of Christ means that in the end, it turns out His way. But in the middle, His reign is compatible with suffering and death and failure on the part of His servants. Christ reigns even over enemies — but that doesn't mean that all the enemies love us like Jesus does, or that they have all become friends or will all become friends. But if they aren't converted, they will meet with their just deserts because Jesus reigns.
