It is very important to our honoring God and our growth as a Christian that we consciously learn to pursue and develop character qualities such as humility and proper submission to authority, both in the church and in the family. In doing so, God is glorified in us. These character qualities are pleasing to God, and they become pleasing to us over time as well. That is, knowing that we are striving to learn what is good and right by the grace of God, we will more and more realize what means to be truly happy. We live in a time when the Devil, the media and many people around us are trying to tell what will make us happy, but what it really is, is impure and sinful selfishness. Therefore we must be wise in all of our behavior. This morning I would like us to examine humility and submission in relation to the worship of God. In doing so, I will be showing you 1st - The abiding apostolic traditions and principles of humility and submission that apply all through the Church Age. 2nd – The customs and symbols of the culture which may apply at any time during this Church Age. And 3rd – The commands given from the Lord which apply all during this Church Age.
