The new life given by God to those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ comes with responsibilities. Responsibility in making everyday choices about who and what to serve and satisfy. Commands are given that instruct the believer in how to live new in the old body, in the same old world. The instructions given are a reminder that every single person is serving either sin or righteousness. The believer has an ongoing responsibility to consciously and continually make righteous choices never assuming sin is not lurking with deceit to lure the believer into it's service.
