The LORD would have Joshua to summon all the chiefs of Israel one last time to Shechem and ultimately they come to Shiloh. Joshua is as committed to serve the LORD as he ever was, though now he is old and well stricken in years. I think he so desired that Israel would be committed to serving the LORD, but I think he also knew that they wouldn't, couldn't. This is the last chapter of the Book of Joshua and therefore the last lesson in this series. What a study this has been!
