Israel will survive because God is on Israel's side. That is not to say there will not be an attempt by their enemies to destroy them and take over the land. God has revealed the invasion will be from the north with leadership coming from modern day Russia. A common denominator among the majority of the nations who will align themselves against the Jews will be the religion of Islam.
The most probably timing for this invasion seems to be the middle of the seven year tribulation. The peacefulness of the first half will be broken by the offensive from the Muslim army gathered in the north.
Such action will stir the fury of God's anger and He will intervene on Israel's behalf for His Name's sake since they are His chosen people.
