Thomas Watson – The Godly Man's Picture Drawn with a Scripture Pencil “If we prize Christ, we will part with our dearest pleasures for him. Paul said of the Galatians that they so esteemed him that they were ready to pull out their own eyes and give them to him (Gal. 4:15). He who esteems Christ will pull out that lust which is his right eye…He who sets a high value on Christ will part with his pride, unjust gain and sinful fashions (Isa. 30:32). He will set his feet on the neck of his sins…What scorn and contempt they put on the Lord Jesus who prefer a damning pleasure before a saving Christ.”

Godet says, “The faith of which Jesus speaks is not merely that which brought him back. By this return he has sealed forever the previous transitory connection which his cure had formed between Jesus and him; he recognizes the Word of Christ as the instrument of the miracle, he unites himself closely to the entire person of Him who power only he had sought at the first. And thereby, his physical cure is transformed into a moral cure, into salvation.”

Great Sermon! This message is for those who truly want God to make changes in their lives. A reminder that our lives are always noted by our attitudes. I found it challenging and stimulating.

So Good Sermon! There are so many good things to say about this sermon. From the start, with the warning about offending a little one, to forgivness, to the mustard seed, to the unprofitable servant, to the 10 lepers. The title of this sermon is quite fitting as these verses do deal with our attitudes, something to really take to heart and be on guard for, no one wants to have a bad attitude, especially to our Lord, not to others either. What a blessing this sermon is, I want to hear it again.
