How reliable is the Bible? Does the Bible have contradictions in it? Are there irreconcilable differences in the Bible?
Chances are you've run into these issues at some point. But a close look at differing accounts in scripture shows us that we have good reason for confidence in the inerrancy and authority of the scriptures.
The story recorded by Luke in Acts 9:19-30 is an excellent example of this. Luke tells us about the time following Saul's conversion, including his escape from Damascus in a basket and his journey to Jerusalem before departing for Tarsus. We hear the story, or some element of it, told by Paul himself in the letter of 2 Corinthians and Galatians - but the version we find in Paul's own hand has details that are absent from Luke's account - and the timeline seems different also.
The modernists would have us think that this represents a contradiction or an irreconcilable difference in scripture - but a closer look reveals that Luke and Paul are in agreement on the details and these three accounts are very 'reconcilable'.
