How about, 'hey, I've had a really hard week and I need you to pray for me.' How about just being honest? How about instead of fighting back the tears you just let them fall? You see part of the problem is the church has become like Facebook -- we have this surface-level image we want to project when in reality we're unraveling on the inside – and I would actually argue, that this culture in the church has been around a lot longer than Facebook. It's the kind of thinking that says don't talk about your sin, your struggles, your disappointments, or your suffering and whatever you do, don't ever let anyone see you cry. Keep it all inside lest somebody think less of you. Friends I want to tell you this morning, that is unbiblical and it is harmful to your soul."
