According to John Calvin, and the majority of those who came after him, the Law has three uses: The Pedagogical, the civil, and the didactic.
1. The Law teaches and convicts men of sin.
2. The Civil Use.
3. The Didactic Use. This is the one that Lutherans – and many modern Christians do not agree with: that God's Moral Law is a standard that still stands for Christians – to show us what is good and right.
