While at the Davenport Bus Station, Tony Miano and Donnie Johnson engaged in the public reading of Scripture. They aloud read Psalms 60-75. Several people sat and listened to the reading of God's Word. As Tony read Psalm 75, a young woman (Carrie) approached and asked Donnie if she could have a seat. Donnie invited her to sit down and handed her a gospel tract. Donnie could tell her countenance was fallen.
By the time Tony finished reading Psalm 75, Carrie was weeping. Tony asked Carrie how he and Donnie could be an encouragement to her. Carrie shared that she had very recently been asked to leave a recovery house for failing to remain clean and sober. Through her tears, Carrie admitted that while she believes in God she struggles with believing in Jesus Christ. Her issue: believing that Jesus performed miracles.
By the end of the conversation, Carrie realized that pride--not believing in miracles--was her issue. Carrie's tears were the result of worldly sorrow.
