SERMON INFO
In the parable of the sower, we are first instructed about the life and priorities of the unbeliever. The unbeliever does not understand the word of God. He is a victim of Satan. Sometimes he superficially responds to the Word with joy, liking the part about heaven and happiness, but somehow missing the part about persecution and crucifixion. He is choked by thorns. He is full of worries. He trusts in and loves money. He desires other things. Everything else is a priority over the kingdom of God. He only has time for the kingdom if nothing else more important to him is going on. Not so the believer. He is the opposite of all these things. He is not perfect, but he understands the Word. He understands something about the glory and majesty of God and understands he should live for God's glory not his own pathetic glory. He knows that to follow Christ is to be hated and is not surprised when it comes true. He keeps "other things" in their place and does not let them take over his life and interfere with the kingdom of God. He bears fruit, some 30-fold, some 60-fold, some 100-fold.
