The Scripture refers to Christ’s return as the “Blessed Hope.” It is “blessed” because we are the recipients of God’s astounding favor. In Scripture, the Christian “blessing” refers, not so much to temporal earthly benefits as to the eternal privilege of belonging to the Kingdom of God. The blessing is the fullness of our inheritance we will received when Christ comes to receive us to Himself. This hope is a sure hope because it was promised by the God who cannot lie. This promise is not only to us, but to the Son to whom we are betrothed. As Christians, we are called to live our lives here and now in light of this “Blessed Hope."
