Whose approval do you live for? Many people obsess over the approval of others, and adjust their behavior in order to win acceptance and admiration. Others live preoccupied with their own approval, content to measure the rightness of their priorities by their own feelings. The Holy Spirit compels us to live toward God’s approval. And we do so when we rightly understand and apply the Word of God to our lives. As simple as this may sound, it’s hard work: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) This Sunday, we’ll continue our study of 2 Timothy with, “God’s unashamed workers.”
