The Passion is completed. After betrayal by Judas, Christ is taken through 3 trials that even by Jewish jurisprudence were illegal. He then faces Pilate, who 5 times declares him innocent prior releasing him to crucifixion. All this not that Christ may be executed not for sedition against Rome but because He is God.
