The Book of the Revelation IS NOT meant to be a linear unfolding of what will happen from the first coming of Christ to the second coming of Christ, waiting for profoundly imaginative minds to engage the text and come up with things like, “Ah, here is Napolean,” and “Here are the Napoleanic wars,” and “Here is Russia,” and “Here are airplanes with guns in their tails,” and all this other nonsense. That is not the purpose of the Book of Revelation.
Tons of paper and oceans of printers’ ink have been wasted, and time has exposed the fruitless and confusing result of that kind of an approach to the Book of the Revelation.
We urge you to listen to these two messages and learn the abiding message of the Book of the Revelation. Also available in RealAudio® format on www.tbcnj.org.

Great Sermon! God has used Al. Martin to bless me more than any other preacher. Messages like this need to be promoted more. Spread the word brethren!

Marvelous! This good man really knows how to preach! I have been instructed and encouraged and convicted of not being strict enough with my own sin. And yes it's also wonderful to remember the big picture. All history really has been the history of the war between Satan and Christ and His people. And yes the Book of Revelation makes it clear that Christ has won and will win even though the church is often weak and seems to be on the losing side. Christ has won and will win the final victory! Glory Hallelujah!

interesting veiw If the woman in Revelation 12 is the church how does the church give birth to the Messiah? Since it is the church of the firstborn the church which the Messiah instituted! How an the church give the Messiah birth? Interesting interpretation if you look back to Genesis as the preacher suggests you see the woman is Israel and surely when the dragon initially when he persecutes the woman in verse 13 that's Isarel too (maybe AD70) then when he makes war with the rest that is the church?
