I want to consider an erroneous view this morning. The New Apostolic Reformation holds that before God created the world, and forming Adam, that God determined in order to create fully free and self-determining creatures He would not be able to fully know the future Himself. Though God would remain fully sovereign in Himself in a sense, He would choose to limit His ability to know the decisions and actions of human beings. When He created Adam and Eve in His image, He gave them authority to take dominion to reign over His creation. But unforeseen to God Adam and Eve fell into sin. Woops! Because of their disobedience, the gift of earthly dominion was surrendered to Satan. Satan became the ruler of this world with all the evil powers aligned with him. While God continued to reign in heaven. They now believed that God needed a new plan to bring creation to His original purpose, and to reclaim to humanity the authority and dominion lost to Satan. God determined to partner with humanity to implement His new will for all the earth. He listened to the pleas of Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Israel changing His mind and relenting. Wagner appeals to Exodus 32, Moses pleading with God to relent. God changing according to him. This is nothing but Open Theism. I hope that we see immediately how silly and ridiculous this is. We need to believe that the fall and every sin happened according to the predetermined will of God.
