It is absolutely true that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is also absolutely true that saving faith will distinguish itself from false faith, false assurance, and false expereince by works. Abraham's faith grew to the point that He held nothing back from God--not even Isaac. Rahab distinguished herself as a true beleiver with works toward two providentially needy men. She used her house, her resources, her ingenuity, and took great risks to assist two of the people of God who God providentially put in her pathway. James holds these two out as examples of thiongs thaty accompany salvation, things that accompany saving faith in the grace of God.
