The writer of Hebrews in 4:3-4 makes a correlation between God resting on the 7th day of rest to the rest that he admonishes the Hebrew church to take hold. The rest that God established on the 7th day was to be rest that was to be partaken and enjoyed by His people for eternity. However, as the writer in verse 5 states, this rest is not something that's optional. To reject God's rest is to reject God Himself and His design for you.
