The Reformation spread into much of Europe and Scandinavia - Many Lutherans there. Sadly, it did not touch Ireland until late 1600s, through plantation times with Scottish English moving to utilize free land. (As in Canada) No Bible in Irish language until later and of limited use. Hence Irland remained a Roman Catholic country. The republic is still over 90% catholic and now secularised.
