John, an apostle of Jesus Christ, will introduce us to two more of Jesus' disciples this morning; Philip and Nathanael. Last week, if you recall, John brought the first two disciples to our attention; Andrew and Peter, and both had been disciples of John the Baptist. Before following Jesus, both Andrew and Peter were fishermen, accustomed to hard work.
Scripture does not tell us much about Andrew. We do know that he is mentioned in John 6:8-9 when Jesus wanted to feed a crowd of 5000. Andrew pointed out a lad who had five loaves or barley and two fish, and Jesus performed one of His signs (miracles) by feeding the entire 5000 with the lad's food, even having an abundance left over.
