We continue in this series entitled the “The Fruit of the Spirit.” All of the fruits of the Spirit reflect the character and nature of our God. God, by nature, is abundantly kind to His people and to the world! True kindness and true goodness must come from above (outside of ourselves) and then into our hearts. It is, therefore, a work of God in our hearts from beginning to end. The two fruits of the Spirit—kindness and goodness—reflect the kindness and goodness of God toward sinners. The Spirit produces this fruit in our hearts so that we may walking according to the Spirit. It is produced in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. It doesn’t come through the works of the Law, as Paul argues in Galatians.
