If God is in charge, why is there so much evil in the world? If God’s kingdom is growing, why do Christians seem to be increasingly outnumbered? How should I respond to the prevalence of sin in my community? In the parable of the wheat and the tares, Jesus lets disciples know that two opposing kingdoms will continue to co-exist until He returns. Those who belong to Christ’s kingdom are planted by God to bear His nature and share His message - not to fight against those who are outside the kingdom. Should we seek to defeat evil by human means? “No . . . lest while you gather up the tares, you also uproot the wheat with them.” (Matthew 13:29, NKJV). This simple message often is forgotten as Christians get increasingly frustrated by the aggressiveness of the kingdom of this world. In this message we’ll continue our study of Jesus’ parables with “When Kingdoms Collide”.
