When Hilkiah the high priest found the Book of the Law in the long neglected Temple confines and it was read to King Josiah, he immediately acknowledged his and his own people's sins in breaking the covenant with Yahweh. The powerful repentance and subsequent rededication to Yahweh and his worship is an OT picture of what happened in the Reformation in the 16th century when the church rediscovered the only proper ground of authority for the Church's belief and practices, which is the Word of God alone. The Reformation cry of "Sola Scripture" desperately needs to be reaffirmed and rededicated to in our day and time also.
