The great tree in Nebuchadnezzar's dream represented him and his kindgom at the peak of his power about 600 years before Christ. The specific features of the tree are developed in the sermon. However, the tree of this dream is used by Ezekiel and our Lord Jesus to set forth another and more glorious tree set up by God--the Gospel tree or the Kingdom of Heaven planted in Christ from the seed of the house of David. Babylon's empire was cut down, but men are ever trying to raise up a new global kingdom and government--one which ever beckons the masses of the fallen race of Adam to come dwell under its shade and fruit.
