If our goal is to be normal, average, to fit in, then we will go to the place where most people go, separated from God in Hell. Jesus says many people who claim to be believers and even claim to be His servants will end up separated from God. There is a difference between fruit and gifts on the tree. The fruit on the tree tells us what kind of tree it is. In the description of an Elder, the only gift listed is teaching, the rest is character. Jesus tells us to build our lives on the rock, then He explains it in verse 24. We must put His words into practice to build on the rock. Everyone goes through storms, there is not a safe place on Earth. No matter who we are or where we live, we will all face storms. The difference on whether we withstand the storms or not is if we put God’s words into practice. It is not enough to know the truth, we must do the truth. If we love Jesus, we will keep His commandments. It is more important to please God than to please people. What does God think about you? Which road are you on? What kind of tree are you? What kind of fruit are you producing? When you are bumped, what kind of things spill out? What kind of builder are you, do you build on rock or sand? It will be costly to be a follower of Jesus Christ. We cannot have a foot on both sides, if we are going forward we cannot have a foot in the past. The power of God is greater than any addiction. Witchcraft happens when we try to get God to do what we want Him to do. If our hope of salvation is in something that we have done, then we are not saved. Our only hope is in the fact the Jesus died for us, so we must trust in Him and do as He commands.
