Yesterday we discussed the Unification concept of the fall and how it was twofold in nature. Moonies believe that there was a spiritual and physical fall. Both falls were sexual in nature as Eve had sex with both Lucifer and Adam (separately) against God's will. Because of this twofold fall, salvation must cover both the physical and spiritual fall. As a side note…you guys love my rabbit trails…the Word of Faith movement also believes in a twofold redemption. The Word of Faith teachers believe that Jesus had to die on the cross physically and then spend three days in hell being tortured until he died there as well, in order to atone for our sins. This too is heresy. Sorry, let's move on How does one get saved in the Unification Church? According to Sun Myung Moon, Jesus failed his mission here on earth. Jesus was supposed to get married and have children in order to break the bloodline of Satan and become humanities true parents. Jesus was defeated by Satan (they always have to demote Jesus) when Jesus was put on the cross against his will and crucified. In other words Jesus was said to have only spiritually redeemed mankind, but was unable to fulfill the physical redemption of the world. Now that Jesus has been put down, Sun Myung Moon then explains that he is the second coming of the Messiah (although he is not Jesus) and he has come to fulfill the second part of Jesus' mission. Moon claims his mission was to become the true parents of humanity in order to end Satan's lineage and start a new bloodline under God.
