God continues His faithfulness to His chosen people, the nation of Israel. He will never change His plans for them or fail to keep all His promises to them, no matter how stubborn and rebellious they are.
The difficulty in David's life continued as he had to put aside his personal grief and pick up his kingdom responsibilities, after the rebellion and attempted assasination by his son Absalom. After the death of Absalom, he had to focus on solidifying his rule over the kingdom again.
