We shall continue our study of John 6 this morning as we explore verses 66-71. Last week we were with Jesus as He taught in the synagogue at Capernaum. We learned that some of Jesus' followers, after listening to some hard sayings, refused to believe Him, and could not tolerate His teachings about Himself, such as, "I am the bread of life," and "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven."
Jesus was pointing out to those hard-hearted people that they needed far more than physical food and the things of this world; they needed spiritual food and He is the spiritual food that brings eternal life.
They needed to believe in Him, accept Him, take Him in and abide in Him, follow Him, and obey His commands. They needed a Savior, yet they refused to grasp their need.
