Man's capacity to doubt God is unlimited. This is demonstrated by the Philistines in 1 Samuel 6 after five rounds of miraculous judgements from God (two on Dagon, three on three individual cities as the ark was moved from place to place). After five rounds of judgement the Philistines still wanted assurances that the sequence of events were not coincidental and tested the return of the ark with newly yoked cows freshly taken from their un-weaned calves. How often do we doubt God even in the face of a glorious creation, even with a historically true Bible and even when He answers our prayers and intervenes on our behalf? 1 Samuel 6 is an invitation to see your own doubts and to turn to God in faith.
