We have looked at the history of Calvinism, tracing it back to a teaching called Gnosticism which began before Christ was born. Then I gave my definition of a cult from a Christian perspective and we began looking at what a sect is in the NT. We will complete that in this session and then explain what an apostate church is and see if we can find where Calvinism might fit in. Then we will consider how cults operate.
Then we will briefly begin to go over the meaning of the TULIP, beginning with the T, which stands for total depravity and seek to understand what Reformed teaching means by the phrase total depravity.
