One of our sweet couples made public their desire to lovingly lead their little girl in a way that will always point her to Jesus and surround her with a faith family that will diligently encourage and equip them for the journey of parenthood and life.
And, regardless of our flaws and shortcomings, we recognize we've been given the stewardship of shaping and molding our arrows for God's glory.
We looked at three primary ways we shape our arrows... our children learn so much from us, as they watch:
1. How we treat people.
2. How we deal with problems.
3. How we handle pride.
To shape a polished shaft they would use heat, leather and cool water to work the knots out and remove the imperfections. Some arrows are straighter than others... and that's the ones a warrior would set apart for the most important shots (Isaiah 49:2).
Parenthood is a lifelong challenge... but one well worth it, especially when your arrows go places and reach people we could never reach. Arrows are designed to be shot... and to be shot at a distance. May yours eventually go and do what you couldn't (Psalm 127).
