The first element of church unity is to embrace predestination. The second element is our representation. Pastor Simpson took the time necessary in our first hour to preach on this second element of representation. Speaking of, mankind's first representative, Adam, sinned, and when he sinned, we sinned and took on his nature. The church; however, also has a second representative, the Lord Jesus. Pastor expounded more on the truth of our salvation being accomplished In a representative. Furthermore, Pastor dealt with several "Arminian", or so called, verses that would appear to suggest that man has the power to decide or choose salvation from within his own will. However, a true biblical understanding of the gospel does not present an offer of salvation for man to accept or decline. Rather, true believers have been redeemed by the will of the Almighty in the representative of Jesus the Savior. Not only this, Pastor Simpson moved to a third element, unity in election. God elected one time and only one time, and it is finished. There's hardly a truer representation of the gospel more clear than today's first-hour service!
