Talk to most Christians today and there is a foreboding feeling of impending darkness. Current events do not give us much optimism. Romans 11, however, does. In Romans 11, we are taught that just as the Jews have been rejected, so will they be restored again. Ungodliness will be removed from Jacob, their sins will be taken away in Christ, and all Israel will be saved. They will go from their current state of being a small remnant to great fullness. What's more, this will not mean the end of Gentile blessing, but rather an enlargement of Gentile blessing. Paul's argument is that if the rejection of the Jews resulted in riches and reconciliation for the world of Gentiles, how much more will the salvation and restoration of the Jews result in great blessing for the Gentiles? This can mean nothing other than world-wide revival. Hard to believe? Read Romans 11 again.
