Peter continues to call our attention to the future, that we may live faithfully in the present. We are in the last days, which begin with the resurrection and enthronement of Christ Jesus and will conclude with his glorious return to judge the living and the dead. Until he returns, we ought be people of sober-minded prayer and Christ-like love, zealous to serve one another unto the glory of Christ. A community that does this will be a refuge of safety and delight in the midst of a world that is passing away. May we all faithfully strive together to be such a community!
