Here in these verses that we are studying, our Lord goes down to the garden of nuts. He goes down to see the beauty of the valley, and again His thought is to find out whether His Bride, His Church is bearing fruit to Him. So this afternoon we want to examine more closely the meaning of these metaphors. We want to ask ourselves 2 questions. 1st of all – In what ways is the Church a garden of nuts? 2nd - What is the beauty (the verdure) of the valley which is spoken of here? Then the next time that I preach to you from this section, I will tell you about our Lord’s reaction to what He sees.
