I Introduction: a necessary premise (Review)

1. There exists a difference between reading a modern western book versus an Ancient Middle East book. The OT dates from 1600 BC to 400 BC

2. In the case of the OT, its content is shaped by the beginning and the end

3. The Order of the Jewish Bible (the one Jesus and the NT used).

II Jesus’ Method for reading the Old Testament

4. The Order of the Jewish Bible is tied to the Messianic Hope

a The three sections of the Tanakh connect People

b. The Three sections of the Torah connect a land

c. The OT leaves Israel partially restored to the land but not completely

d. The NT presents Jesus as the New David
