I would like to speak to you this morning about what Peter focused on when He preached this sermon. He focused on Jesus. He did not focus on himself and the power of the Spirit which had been given to him, although he will speak of it later in verse 33. He focused on Christ, and He preached the gospel of Christ to the multitude. But the way that he began preaching Christ was to preach about God the Father and God the Spirit's work in relation to what the Lord Jesus did, in His life and death and resurrection. And so that is how we will approach this text this morning. We will look 1st – At God's attestation of Christ. (verse 22) 2nd – We will look at God's pre-determined purpose in relation to Christ. (verse 23) And then, 3rd – We will look at God's loosing the death-pains of Christ. (verse 24)
