Jesus' third argument is that worry is useless: by worrying, no one is able to lengthen the pathway of his life in the least (Matthew 6:27). In the fourth place he argues that worry is faithless (vv. 28-30). Consider the lilies: how they grow, how they are adorned, and how frail they are. If God cares for grass that passes away so quickly, will He not care for His own children who are destined for eternal glory? This teaches us that worry is foolish; it is serious; and it is unbelief.
