For those of us who may live in Michigan and the rest of the mid-west of the US, barbecuing can be a special event seeing as we can only do it half a year due to weather. You may invite the whole neighborhood or family and friends or may celebrate a holiday and have a nice big potluck.

There's something about the grill that tends to bring the attention of both onlookers, encouragers, and critics. Imagine if were to hold a large grilling event and every time you got the heat where you needed it and put on your food you would quickly turn off the gas or pour water over the coals. Someone might ask what you are doing and after the third or fourth time of making the fire and putting it out - your friends or family are going to pull you aside.
