One often hears, “My mother/wife is the best cook/best looking/sweetest…” There is no objective measure to determine the best of all. And that is exactly the way it is supposed to be. The truth is that the mother/wife/virtuous woman is not in a competition with other virtuous women. The standard for your life is not whether your house is as clean, well decorated, organized, and orderly as your friend, sister, or mother. God has not designed you for competition. He has designed you to use your unique gifts, talents, and personality to serve your particular family well. In doing so, they will conclude that you are the best in all the land. And they will be right in their assessment because no one can serve your family as well as you.
