The Apostle Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians said "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

We can probably all think of things we viewed as "important" when we were children - pogs, pet rocks, tamagotchis, disco music. As we matured, these things took more and more of a backseat to things we come to understand as being of greater value and importance. Where we might have taken more risks as children, we could turn the part of our brain off that wondered how far past the roof house we could land.

At salvation, our desires change as well. We view sin as a former desire and look towards our sanctification as having better value. We should strive to be holy just as God is holy. We should not hear the cringe inducing charge that Paul gave the Corinthian church in the same letter as above "I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able." Let our daily walk in Christ continue to provide us a full meal.
