As you read this list, perhaps, like many of us, you don’t find yourself in this list. You are not the fastest, strongest, or the most beautiful. There are several dangers you should be aware of if you are to live a life that honors God. First, don’t be ruled by jealousy. God has fashioned you with exactly what you need to honor Him. He has also fashioned those with more natural gifts with exactly what they need to glorify Him. Don’t waste your life tearing down others. Secondly, don’t try to be somebody else. God created this world with diversity on purpose. It would be a ridiculous waste for a spider to try to roar like a lion. We live in a copycat culture, and the world is poorer as a result. You be you to the glory of God. Thirdly, don’t waste your life with insecurity. Again, God made you the way He made you on purpose. If you love Him, it’s because He first loved you, and He really does delight in you. Your security will never be found in something you are or in something you are not. It will always be found in God’s justifying, covenant love to you in Christ Jesus.
