HAPPY ARE THE HUNGRY

Rev. A.J. Ogden

The Word of God says in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” It is strange that people would choose a thousand other substitutes which can never deliver, isn’t it? God plainly tells us what we must hunger and thirst after to be happy and fulfilled, and we go after some sinful offer of Satan. How foolish we are!

Apart from knowing God in a born again experience, man seeks everything on earth but God, and is always hungry and thirsty, not understanding why he is so miserable. Money, health, wealth, power, name, fame, and prestige would not satisfy his hunger and thirst. The world may think you are a great success when you own a big part of it, but you know you are not happy. If you owned all the planets you would not be content because contentment has to come from God.

If there are unbelievers reading this, why not just let God change your mind today? A smart man changes his mind sometimes, but a fool never does. But you still have time to repent before you perish, turn before you burn, and choose Paradise before perishing in an eternal Hell.

Perhaps you say yes, but I do not believe in a hell. You will upon arrival. Noah worked and preached on the Ark 120 years and even some of his carpenters did not believe in the Ark. But one day it rained and I mean it really was a flood. All of them changed their mind while drowning. Are you sinking today? The eternal life boat is Jesus who bids you come into the Ark. Jesus made provision, and the next move is yours to make.
